Emocute Studio v8.1 — AI Music Production for Claude
A downloadable tool for macOS and Linux
Picking a version (v8 / v8.1)
Emocute Studio is a source package for AI music production. Both v8 and v8.1 ship from this page — pick whichever fits your setup.
- v8.1 (Claude Code edition) — Runs on Claude Code (Anthropic's official CLI). Unzip, run claude, and you're producing. Claude reads the spec files on its own.
- v8 (Claude.ai edition) — Upload the ZIP into a Claude.ai chat. No Claude Code, no terminal.
Bought v8? v8.1 is free. v8 stays downloadable — keep it if you prefer the chat workflow.
The rest of this page assumes v8.1. v8 users can read the same steps as a chat-based flow.
Emocute Studio v8.1 — an AI music production environment
Emocute Studio is a source package for AI music production, built to run inside Claude Code. Hand it a vague direction and it helps you design chord progressions, MIDI, lyrics, and Style / Exclude prompts for Suno.
It is not a standalone app. The ZIP bundles Python source, a harmony dictionary, Suno vocabulary data, production workflows, and spec files that Claude Code reads at startup.
Unzip and run claude. Claude picks up the rules, the available tools, and the workflow on its own, and starts producing. No ZIP upload, no prompt pasting.
Lines like "lofi but melancholic," "dark verse, blow it open at the chorus," or "footwork but keep some sweetness" come back as chord progressions, MIDI design notes, lyrics, and Suno prompts, with Claude pulling from the bundled docs and code.
v8.1 ships roughly 51,000 lines of Python, a 336-entry harmony dictionary, 566 Suno vocabulary words, and 41 Suno production tools. (v8 ships at a different scale.)

Where Suno alone falls short
Text-only Suno prompts don't reliably hit mid-song modulations or odd meters. Emocute Studio is built around designing MIDI and uploading it to Suno, so the parts text prompts can't pin down become controllable.
- Modulation design Diatonic, relative / parallel key, half-step up, pivot-chord routes — the engine proposes modulation paths. Modulate as many times as you want in one track.
- Odd-meter support 5/4, 7/4, 7/8, mixed meters. Lock the structure at the MIDI level for meters Suno can't grasp from text.
- Reharmonization Push tensions, upper structures, substitutions, and tritone subs into an existing progression.
- Voice leading Berklee-style voice-leading pass. Clean up internal motion at the MIDI level before handing it to Suno.
How you use it
- Say roughly what you want "Lofi but melancholic," "a song that opens up at the chorus" — feel-based lines are enough.
- Pick from options Genre, concept, BPM, key, song form, chord direction — each comes back as a short list of options. Pick one and it moves through chord design, lyrics, MIDI, MP3 preview, and Suno prompt output.
- Push back "Not surprising enough," "lyrics need more bite," "only open up on the chorus," "make it darker" — feedback re-designs the relevant section, not the whole track.
What's new in v8.1
Everything below is new in v8.1 and not in v8. If you own v8 and want any of it, the upgrade is free.
- Claude Code support Just launch Claude Code. No ZIP upload, no custom prompt pasting.
- Suno solo renderer Give it genre / key / BPM and it generates chords, drums, bass, melody, pads, and spits out an MP3 in one shot.
- Suno prompt as HTML Style / Exclude / Lyrics / Progression as four blocks, each with a copy button. Paste each one straight into Suno's input fields.
- Reference-track analysis Drop in an MP3. It reads key, BPM, chord progression, and frequency balance, then proposes a Suno command.
- Suno output analysis / separation Splits your Suno renders into vocals / drums / bass / other, runs a quality pass, and suggests master settings.
- Lyrics quality check Flags AI-flavored phrasing, overused vocab, thought verbs (think / feel / wonder), over-explaining, and structural weakness.
- Lyrics round-trip review Spawns a bare Claude (tools off, critic role pinned) as a separate process from the writing Claude, and hands back the critique as JSON. Six axes — hook strength, AI flavor, signature-tic density, thought-verb count, structural sharpness, emotional dynamics — plus weak-line callouts and concrete fixes. Splitting writer from critic gets you an outside read instead of your own taste. Revise, re-review, settle.
- Engine improvements Performance tags fleshed out for 30 genres, tighter voicing-quality guards, deterministic RNG (same input → same output).
Chord design & MIDI generation
- Build chord progressions from vague emotion / genre directions
- 400+ chord definitions (tensions, upper structures, reharm)
- 23 genre presets (lofi, neo-soul, jpop, house, footwork, jersey, drill, trap, dnb, more)
- 24 song templates (10 standard, 10 Suno-targeted, 4 experimental)
- 336-entry harmony dictionary across 101 genres
- One engine handles chord suggestion, full-song structure, and modulation paths
- Odd-meter MIDI (5/4, 7/4, 7/8, mixed)
- Berklee-style voice leading
- Bassline / drum / melody generation assist
- Performance shaping via CC (volume curves, modulation, filter sweeps)
- MP3 preview output
Quality control on what gets generated
- Auto-flags generic / cliched chord progressions
- MIDI analysis (voice leading, range, density, bass, drums, pedal, pitch distribution)
- Aesthetic scoring on progressions (weird / catchy / hard-kawaii axes)
- Voicing guard (tension exclusivity, dissonance warnings, root reinforcement)
- Voice-leading checker
- Lyrics quality check (AI-flavored phrasing, thought verbs, overused vocab, over-explaining, weak structure)
Lyrics generation
- Workflow that builds lyric drafts from an emotional brief
- Built-in lyrics quality check
- Notes on phonetics, mora count, and hook design
- Reference banks of working / broken patterns plus vocab to avoid
- Lyric DNA analysis
- Japanese, English, and JP/EN mixed
Suno production pipeline
- 5-phase flow (concept → lyrics → Style design → MIDI → package)
- Style design system (category structure, word-count guide, word-order weighting)
- Suno Style vocabulary database: 566 words across 75 genres
- Exclude optimization (contradiction checks, genre-specific templates)
- Vocal persona design support
- Parameter notes (BPM / Weirdness / Style Influence / Audio Influence)
- MIDI-upload-first workflow
- Documented failure patterns and what fixed them
Same prompt won't always give you the same Suno output — Suno's behavior shifts. This build is anchored on operational knowledge from Suno v5 onward.
Additional engines
- Multi-track arrangement (15 instruments)
- Arpeggiator
- Tempo curve (7 presets, BPM-jump support)
- Trap-specific 808 / hi-hat / snare-roll generators
- Glitch / riser FX pattern generation
- Mathematical MIDI generation (chaos / self-organizing / noise formulas mapped to notes)
- Chiptune synthesis helper
- HTML player output
- Tap-input tool — mark beats and chord changes by tapping along to a track, exports HTML Claude can read back in
- Doc consistency check, ZIP integrity check, harmony-dictionary search, lyrics linter
Genre research & artist DNA
- Genre research notes
- 18-artist DNA breakdowns
- Artist influence genealogy
- Reverse lookup by harmony / lyrics / timbre / rhythm
- Harmony dictionary + Suno vocabulary search tools
- Reference material for things like "Machinedrum-ish," "Kikuo-style dark kawaii," "Puma Blue late-night" — pull element-level cues from a reference name
These exist to extract principles of harmony, timbre, structure, and language. Not for cloning artists.
Customizable
This ships as source code and production docs. It is not a black box.
Tell Claude "add a preset for this genre," "rewrite the lyrics rules like this," or "register this progression in the dictionary," and bend it into your own production environment.
The more you use it, the more it becomes yours.
